‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ sequels to be shot back to back
Both Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson – who played slap-happy billionare Christian Grey and virginal klutz Anastasia Steele, respectively – were miserable on an nearly primal level while filming the movie, and made promoting it look like a very unerotic form of torture. They’ll shoot them both next yr, in accordance to TheWrap. And rather than waste any more time pretending to search for another female director for these female-centric films (because there are none of those to be found!), the Powers That Be have hired James Foley to helm both.
Foley’s credits also include directing the 1996 thriller Fear starring Mark Wahlberg and Reese Witherspoon and the 2007 psychological thriller ideal Stranger with Halle Berry.

“After all, the loss of the first film’s director, Sam Taylor-Johnson, was largely attributed to creative conflict with James during the film”, he added. James gave a brief update in late October when she shared with her Twitter followers that she was with producers Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti.
In other news, there are also a few rumors that “Fifty Shades Darker” will have a more humorous tone.
The two sequels to Fifty Shades of Grey will reportedly film back-to-back.
Fifty Shades Darker has a release date set for February 10, 2017 and Fifty Shades Freed will be released one year later on February 9, 2018. Regardless, the movie went on to gross $570.4 million worldwide against a budget of just $40 million, so the sequels were always going to happen.
