Fiorina left out of GOP debate
Carly Fiorina failed to qualify for the GOP debates on Saturday in New Hampshire.
Republican candidate Ben Carson trails Fiorina in New Hampshire polls and has yet to appear in the state since the Iowa caucuses, yet was invited to Saturday’s debate because of his top-six position in recent national polls.
Yesterday New Hampshire Senator Kelly Ayotte, former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich and former GOP Presidential Nominee Mitt Romney publicly advocated on Fiorina’s behalf.
“She is the only one that they are not allowing on the stage, and she is ahead of some of the other candidates”, said Maurice Huberdeau of Nashua.
That has done little to sway ABC News, which believes that there is little justification for an eleventh-hour invitation to Fiorina, even if she is the only candidate being kept off stage. “I want to call on ABC News and on the RNC to include Carly on the debate stage”, Cruz told reporters Thursday. ABC will host the debate with the Independent Journal Review, in partnership with the Republican National Committee. Romney said. “She got more Iowa votes than John and Chris”. Don’t exclude [the] only woman’. Rick Santorum and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee. “She has worked hard, won a diligent campaign”, Cruz was quoted as saying.
It is being held at Saint Anselm College in Manchester, New Hampshire- which was the site of a primetime Democratic candidates debate held in December.
Gov. Christie has built his closing argument around his criticism of Rubio, and he kept up that approach on the debate stage.
On the Hugh Hewitt Show on Wednesday, Fiorina made her own case for being included in the GOP debate.
“We are already on the ballot in 32 states, and there is a ground game with paid staff in 12 states”, she wrote. “Networks are making up these debate rules as they go along”. Duprey writes on his Facebook page that he’s spoken with ABC and Fiorina’s campaign, but ultimately does not have control over who the network puts on the debate stage. It comes just two days before New Hampshire residents start voting in the state’s first-in-the-nation primary.
‘You can tell them to go f- themselves, because they let you down and they left, ‘ Trump said, directing his ire at American companies that relocated overseas.
The spot features former Attorney General Eric Holder praising Clinton on civil rights issues and her promise to curb gun violence and police brutality. Ayotte says Fiorina’s exclusion from the stage undermines New Hampshire’s primary process.
The Gilmore campaign characterized ABC News’ decision as “the same old thing of networks trying to pick candidates”.
“World News Tonight” anchor David Muir and “This Week” co-anchor Martha Raddatz will moderate Saturday’s debate.
