Fire prevention demos planned for Laurier Thursday
Volunteers of the Ringing Hill and Sanatoga fire companies are expected to join other firefighters from across western Montgomery, northern Chester and eastern Berks counties tonight (Thursday, October 8, 2015) at Coventry Mall, at the intersection of Routes 100 and 724, for its annual Fire Prevention Week observance and equipment display.
Demonstrations will occur at 11:20 a.m. and 12:50 p.m.at Alumni Field. Larger homes may need more alarms.
“During a fire drill, children should get in line quickly without talking and follow the instructions of their teachers in order to go to a safe place outside of the building”. In the video below Pruitt answered a few questions about smoke alarm safety.
Adult activities include fire station tours, goodie bags, fire safety information and child seat inspections. Firefighters are community helpers and children should not be afraid of them.
Home fires killed an average of eight people every day in 2013.
And, take a moment to thank a firefighter for helping teach prevention and for protecting our property and our lives.
