Firmino hits hat-trick in friendly
Liverpool chairman Tom Werner admits he is really looking forward to seeing more of Roberto Firmino this season, after the Brazil worldwide made his competitive debut on Sunday against Stoke City, as per the Liverpool Echo.
Those players who didn’t feature from the start against Stoke were involved in the practice match at Melwood, including Lucas Leiva, Divock Origi, Mamadou Sakho, Kolo Toure and goalkeeper Adam Bogdan.
£29million signing Firmino, who featured for Brazil at this year’s Copa America, is thought to be behind the rest of the Liverpool squad in terms of fitness and is unlikely to start next Monday’s Premier League fixture at home against Bournemouth.
Firmino was impressive and netted a hat-trick in the contest.
Fellow summer signing Danny Ings was on target from the penalty spot, with Lazar Markovic completing the scoring.
Liverpool fans have been excited by the arrival of Firmino and his hat-trick feat will surely only increase expectations at Anfield.
