First ‘Angry Birds Movie’ trailer
It might seem early but the hour was inevitable: ladies and gentlemen, we have a trailer for the Angry Birds movie.
I know it’s just an initial trailer but this movie looks unnecessary and bad.
And then there’s Angry Birds, which turns a simple, colorful game about warring animals into a simple, colorful movie about warring animals voiced by big-name stars.
While Angry Birds may not be breaking any new ground in the animation world, neither did Minions and it’s now the second-highest grossing animated film of all time. The layoffs were preceded by 130 employees being let go by the company in October 2014 amid slow sales of Angry Birds’ offshoot games.
In the movie, Red is odd-bird out on a happy, charming island which the flightless birds have never been able to leave; they’re comically naive as a result.
Enough filler, take a look and see for yourself!
When was the last time you used your finger to pull back a little slingshot and launch a colorful digital bird at a bunch of green pigs and wooden blocks? Sure, you can argue that the originality comes from it being Angry Birds. And do you think it will be a big hit when it finally arrives to help kick start the summer moviegoing season next year?
The Angry Birds movie will explain how the rivalry between the birds and pigs started.
Supporting them are Bill Hader (Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs) as a pig, Maya Rudolph (Bridesmaids) as Matilda, and Peter Dinklage (“Game of Thrones“) as the Mighty Eagle.
