First Full Trailer For Marvel’s Luke Cage Unleashed
Luke Cage will make history when it becomes Marvel’s first TV show to include a black character as its lead.
Marvel’s Luke Cage is Executive Produced by series Showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker (SouthLAnd, Ray Donovan), Charles Murray (Roots) and Jeph Loeb (Marvel’s Daredevil, Marvel’s Jessica Jones), who also serves as Marvel’s Head of Television.
Cage occupied the same moody, gritty, noir NY that fellow Netflix Marvellians Daredevil and Jessica Jones call home, and the three plus Iron Fist will eventually all share the same screen in a Defenders mini-series.
Also visible in the full trailer is Misty Knight (played by Simone Missick), a Harlem police detective with romantic ties to both Luke Cage/Power Man and Danny Rand/Iron Fist in Marvel Comics. The Luke Cage: Hero for Hire comic book debuted in June 1972, and the character went on to have catchphrase: “Sweet Christmas!” Check out the new poster below and tune in here for the new trailer tomorrow!

To further lay the groundwork for Luke’s own series, this new poster was released while Marvel announced the trailer was coming.
“Jessica had brought on quite a bit of baggage, things he didn’t want to deal with”.
The new series will follow the life of Cage as he moves to Harlem to pick up the pieces after his failed relationship with Jessica and the death of his wife. “He’s tired of trusting people”. Daredevil season 1 & 2 and Jessica Jones season 1 are now available on Netflix.
All episodes of “Luke Cage” begin streaming Friday, Sept. 30 on Netflix.
