First Trailer for ‘Logan’ Reveals Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine Swan Song
“Mutants – they’re gone now”.
Logan is directed by James Mangold from a screenplay by Michael Green and Scott Frank and James Mangold (based on a story by David James Kelly and Mangold), and is produced by Simon Kinberg, Hutch Parker, and Lauren Shuler Donner. Let’s go over the five most interesting things from the Logan trailer. “Vol 2” teaser trailer dropped, we got the first look at another Marvel Comics legend in “Logan”.
The upcoming movie is set in future in the most deserted setting we have ever seen in an X-Men film. “How can we construct a story that’s built more on character and character issues, in a way as if it nearly wasn’t a superhero movie, yet it features their powers and struggles and themes?”
Then you have Professor X, whose memory is waning and whose telepathic powers are on the fritz. The action soon picks up and we’re treated to a quick scene that shows Wolverine as ferocious as ever (okay, so this scene is only shown in the red band global trailer, which is the second video in this article). Particularly when it comes to defending the young child against Donald Pierce and his Reavers.
Though the film finds itself in the middle of a Marvel/DC battle, with “Wonder Woman”, “Justice League” and “Spider-man: Home Coming” vying for the top spot, it looks like “Logan” may surprise everyone, like “Deadpool” this year. “He’s fading on the inside and his diminished healing factor keeps him in a constant state of chronic pain”, the notes continue. “From this, Logan emerges as a mentor to a mutant girl, who has two claws instead of his three”.
It seems pretty likely, and by mid-movie, would could definitely see Logan mourning his dead mentor – before going to get revenge, of course.
Logan is scheduled to release March 2017.
We see one familiar X-face: Patrick Stewart reprises his role as Professor X, the man who sent Logan on a journey to discover the secrets of his past in the first X-Men film, 2000’s “X-Men”.
