First trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi drops
I’m a huge fan of Star Wars: The Force Awakens and obviously can’t wait to see Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
The movie poster shows Rey on an intense red background pointing her light saber skyward, the beam dividing images of Skywalker and Kylo Ren.
I wonder if there was a sense of knowing when they put Luke’s line of dialogue in the trailer. “And what is very apparent from The Force Awakens is that Rey has certain expectations as to what she might be getting from Luke”. But it’s not all it’s cracked up to be – Skywalker isn’t quite the same as when we saw him last… Luke tells her “it’s so much bigger” though, alluding to what came before her between the Jedi and the Sith.
Do you see the similarity?
The 65-year-old “Star Wars” legend added he was just as surprised as anyone that Luke, who has always clung to the Jedi ways and the light side, would say something like this. Finally, we get an idea of where the title comes from.
We’ve just gotten our first look at “The Last Jedi”. Luke and Artoo are surrounded by burning buildings. Kylo Ren is alive and angry, and the First Order, despite a crushing defeat at the end of The Force Awakens, is still terrorizing the galaxy. It’s entirely possible… and it’s clearly an important moment. Luke has had a lot of time to think during his disappearance and it looks like he’s chose to not to bring back the Jedi Order.
“I’m proud of the legacy we left and I’m happy new generations of fans will get to see me and Harrison and Carrie back in the roles people loved”. “We would sit on her bed for hours and go through the script”. Fisher died in December, but filmed scenes in The Last Jedi before her death. The panel featured Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Kathleen Kennedy, Director Rian Johnson, newcomer Kelly Marie Tran, and the iconic Mark Hamill.
