Fitbit Charge 2 and Fitbit Flex 2 leaked in promo images
(Fitbit) Fitbit Charge is the predecessor of the upcoming Charge 2, which is expected to come out in November.
“Shares of fitness wearables pioneer Fitbit (FIT) are down 60 cents, or nearly 4%, at $14.81, after Web site TechnoBuffalo late yesterday ran a piece by Todd Haselton showing what purports to be two forthcoming products, the “Charge 2″ and Flex 2”, with an uncertain time frame for debut. There is no official word on price and launch date as of yet, but as we said above, in the leaked images the Fitbit Charge 2 has the date “Nov 27” on its screen, so that might be an indication for what’s to come. On top of that, it will also offer interchangeable bands, which is a big improvement and one of our bugbears from when we reviewed the functionally solid Fitbit Charge HR.
Otherwise, the features appear similar to the originals, with smartphone notifications and multi-sport tracking already featured in Fitbit’s lineup.
Meanwhile, the smaller and more affordable Flex is set to be replaced by the Flex 2. It is also keeping its sleep tracking and all-day battery features from the previous model. According to Fitbit, the new Flex could be what it calls “swimproof”, which most likely means that you can wear it when swimming without any risks of damage.
Fitbit Inc (NYSE:FIT) claims that more new products will be arriving this year, and that claim just got real. Although Park did not disclose which products will be getting an upgrade, he promised that the company is eyeing on refreshing some of its products and is planning to launch more “interactive software”.
Now talking about the Flex 2, it sports a new design, this time around with a slim band.
It looks like Fitbit will have something to announce in the near future.
