Fitbit Fitness Bracelet with SmartWatch Features
Amir noted that wearable fitness-tracking devices company is “now competing head to head with Apple” in the watch category.
Fitbit announced that their latest smartwatch, the Blaze, will feature a touchscreen and have several smart app capabilities including text, phone, and calendar alerts. Called the Blaze, it is the newest activity tracker/fitness watch of Fitbit.
On the surface, there’s not much to dislike about the Fitbit Blaze.
Fitbit is still the market leader in the wearables world, according to the International Data Corporation. He stated that the fitness watch remains true to the Fitbit “active” tradition, and the “smart” upgrade is only part of the product’s development as technology advances.
From the inside out, Fitbit Blaze is a carefully curated experience created to help you take action without distraction. Fitbit introduced three basic lines of bands: a durable, sweat-resistant tier, metal bands and leather bands. Readings would range from 80-105 without even moving a step, while our Apple watch provided a steady reading of 75bpm. In “Multi-Sport” mode, you can select from a list of specific exercise types, like running, hiking, biking, weight lifting, etc. and, as you exercise, real-time stats like your heart rate, time elapsed, and distance traveled are displayed on the Corning Gorilla Glass face. This move from Fitbit could be seen as an early move to counter that predicted shift. But don’t get it wrong, you will not be able to access your Facebook news feed and you can’t pay for things with it. Obviously, it is monitoring your physical activity, exercise programs and synchronizes with your phone automatically. A sleep tracker also shows you the length and quality of your sleep (determined by your heart rate).
Blaze offers a battery life that last five days on a single charge compared to the Apple Watch (18 hours).
We found operating the Fitbit Blaze to be fairly straightforward – swiping up from the watchface will reveal notifications, and swiping left and right will reveal the various menus available. Fitbit also faces investor concerns over increased competition and the positioning of the Fitbit Blaze, he says. The FitBit Blaze is up for pre-order at $199.99 and has a heart-rate tracker, connected Global Positioning System and supports on-screen workouts. The same statistics described above are recorded, but are not displayed in real-time as you work out.
