Five men arrested on Trumbull County Turnpike are American citizens
According to WKBN, Jibril Abdiselam, 24; Mohammeddeq Hassan, 27; Mahamoud Mohamed, 26; Zakaria Warsame, 25, and Said Abu were charged with possessing criminal tools and forgery.
On November 12, a day before the deadly terrorist attacks in Paris, five men were arrested while traveling east on the Ohio Turnpike in Braceville Township.
The headlines from several news organizations Wednesday was that the five men were “foreign nationals”, meaning they were not United States citizens. Their charges range from drug possession and identity fraud to possessing criminal tools and forgery.
Said faces an additional misdemeanor charge of possessing marijuana and Hassan was issued a traffic ticket that says he drove 91 miles per hour in a 70 zone.
They are all from in and around Columbus and are being held in the Trumbull County Jail. They have all surrendered their passports.
The suspects are scheduled to appear in Newton Falls Municipal Court later today.
A search of the vehicle uncovered cash, credit cards, gift cards, ink, a printer and prescribing paper, a credit card embosser and marijuana.
