Flickr VR App For Samsung Gear VR Offers For 360° Photo Experience
Or are you waiting for the full Oculus Rift experience before you commit to virtual reality?
Even though Flickr already had apps for multiple platforms, this new one will allow users to view the huge collection of images hosted on the website not only in awesome 3-D, but also in landscape mode. The company has launched a virtual reality app called Flickr VR for the Samsung Gear VR device which promises to give you a more immersive way to enjoy the tens of thousands of 360-degree photos that are shared to the site.
Flickr said that the app stands apart from others because it maintains the quality of uploaded images hence providing the best platform for 360-degree photos.
Being its applicability with Samsung handset alone, it has to be ensured that the handset is compatible with the Gear VR and those being Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note5.
In addition to VR games and video on the Gear VR, browsing photos isn’t the only other option. From a desktop web browser, you can use your mouse or trackpad to scroll through these types of photo and view all around you.
Flickr is diving into the world of virtual reality in order to provide you with a new photo experience.
Flickr has today released their Gear VR app that lets you browse through some its best user-generated 360 photos-all at an impressively high quality and delivered at a speed that’s quicker than you can say “Revontulikaari” (that’s “Northern Lights Arc” in Finnish).
To get the Flickr VR app, connect your phone to your Gear VR, then click the “Store” tab at the bottom of Oculus Home, and swipe until you find the Flickr VR app (shown below) and click install.
