Flight headed to Chicago diverted to Indianapolis after mechanical issue

An United Airlines flight from Charlotte to Chicago was rerouted to Indianapolis Sunday morning after dropping 10,000 feet midair.
According to Jeff Dutton, Communications Manager at Indianapolis Airport Authority, passengers were checked out once the flight landed but no one was taken to a hospital.
United Express Flight 5919 from Charlotte to Chicago was diverted to Indianapolis global Airport around 9 a.m. when it experienced a mechanical issue causing a pressure fluctuation inside the cabin.
“Some passengers were complaining of headaches and ear problems so they diverted to Indianapolis”, Dutton said.
Delta Airlines Flight 1889 landed safely at Denver worldwide Airport after encountering lightning and hail so heavy the windshield on the Airbus A320 was cracked and nose cone damaged.
ExpressJet spokesman Jarek Beem said the crew brought the aircraft down to a lower altitude because of a pressurization issue.
