Flint Pastor Cuts off Donald Trump’s Speech
A pastor put Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump in his place during a visit to her church in Flint, Mich., after Trump began to criticize Democratic rival Hillary Clinton. “Nothing. Now Hillary Clinton -“, Trump said before being noticed to stop the attacks.
And then the deplorable basket case turned around and slandered her.
“This is my church and you will respect him”, Timmons reportedly said, to which Trump replied, “Thank you”.
According to politico.com, Trump preceded the church visit with a 15-minute tour of the water treatment centre that is responsible for the contamination. The next morning, Trump went on television, called her a “nervous mess”, and then told a very different version of events from the one that journalists in the room are saying and video of the incident indicates.
Green-Timmons had told reporters that Trump’s appearance at her church was not an endorsement, but rather a means to draw more attention to Flint’s water issues. He has previously written about film for Bloody Disgusting, We Got This Covered, What Culture, and The Celebrity Cafe.
Timmons did not respond to TPM’s request for comment.
“Oh, oh, OK, OK, OK, that’s good”, Trump said.
“Trump didn’t go into detail on specific policies he would pursue to improve Flint’s water quality”.
“Some people in those communities aren’t planning on voting for me and that’s ok”, he said.
Trump agreed and promised he would stick to discussing the water crisis, not politics. “It used to be cars were made in Flint, and you couldn’t drink the water in Mexico”.
The crowd quieted down, but Trump wrapped up his speech less than 30 seconds later.
That isn’t true. In fact, several audience members began to heckle Trump, asking pointed questions about whether he racially discriminated against black tenants as a landlord. Trump thanked the pastor and the congregation and left shortly afterward.
After that, Trump ended out his remarks by promising to fix Flint’s problems if he is elected president, though he did not offer any concrete solutions during his remarks. Trump wrapped up his speech a few moments later, with a promise that the “damage can be corrected”.
