Florence Henderson was ‘America’s mom’
LOS ANGELES-We have to say goodbye to Florence Henderson.

Before she became known as “America’s Mom” on “The Brady Bunch”, Florence Henderson was an established Broadway star and a frequent presence on television, including the first female guest host of NBC’s “Tonight Show”.
The show took on new life in syndication.
Maureen McCormick is paying tribute to her TV mom and lifelong friend, Florence Henderson. “You think of history and tradition, but really you could not have a better shining personality for everyone she would engage with”.
McCormick tweeted on Friday that Henderson would be “forever” in her heart, and that she would miss her “dearly”.

He added that Broadway Cares would be making a special $1,500 grant to New York’s LGBT Community Center in celebration of Henderson’s three Broadway Backwards appearances. Henderson is survived by her children; Barbara, Joseph, Robert and Lizzie, their respective spouses, and five grandchildren.
After her years on “The Brady Bunch”, Henderson became a commercial spokeswoman and co-produced “Country Kitchen”, a Nashville Network series.
