Florida police officer who fatally shot Corey Jones has been fired
This photo of Nouman Raja, wearing a BlackDove Arms cap at a shooting range, was posted on Facebook in March. They added they hope for the investigations to “yield factual information about how and why this officer acted so callously”. “It is obvious that Corey touched many lives and for that we will be forever grateful”, the statement continued.
“The City of Palm Beach Gardens has been cautiously and methodically considering the employment status of Officer Nouman Raja”, stated the press release.
Jones’ family said in a statement that they were pleased by the city’s action, but want to see criminal chairs brought against Raja.

A Florida policeman who shot dead a black musician as the victim returned from a concert last month has been fired from his job, officials said.
But the auto was Jones’, and it wasn’t abandoned. Authorities say a gun was found on the scene.
The shooting is being investigated by three separate agencies.
Palm Beach Gardens Police allege Jones “confronted” Raja before he shot him six times.
Jones’ brother Clinton Jones Jr. during a rally in October said his brother would “not ever, ever, ever pull a gun on a policeman”. Although officers who are fired while on probation have little recourse, the union is exploring its options, he said.
Whitely on Thursday said the city still “must answer for the multiple failures” that led to Raja shooting Jones. He then ran to safety, where he was shot again from behind.
However, the department’s written procedures require that surveillance operations be carried out by tactical officers or detectives, Yahoo News reported. Even with the firing, we don’t know the details of how the police department reached this decision.
Last month, Stepp said that Raja, who was in his sixth month with the department, had been conducting surveillance on suspected burglaries.
Raja also worked part time at Palm Beach State College teaching law enforcement courses. The group apparently markets heavy machine guns and rifles.
Days following Jones’ death, Aronberg announced that his office was conducting an independent investigation.
