Florida Woman Allegedly Beaten Into a Coma by Roommate on Valentine’s Day

A young Miami woman is fighting to survive after her family said she was violently attacked by her roommate earlier this week.

‘She’s making fists with both her hands and curving them towards her body, which is indicative of brain damage, ‘ Nikolov said.

“Bringing attention to this and raise some type of awareness for other people to be careful because I can’t explain in words how hard it is to see her like this”, Cabot expressed. Jones suffered numerous slashes and bruises during the Valentine’s Day attack, which was also her birthday.

It left Danielle needing a blood transfusion and 300 stitches to put back her mutilated face.

On Sunday, Nikolov shared video of Jones opening her eyes with the television station.

On Feb. 14 Mitchell beat up and cut Jones so badly that she almost lost her life inside her downtown Miami apartment, police said.

‘Not only did he admit in the original police report to banging her head against the floor and choking her, but the mutilation that he did to her face – I think this is the MO of a serial killer’.

“I hope more than anything that my daughter makes it through this”.

“She has scars everywhere, around her eyes, lips”.

Jones’ mother said she’s still in shock.

Of question is whether the pair may have been involved prior to Byron Mitchell moving in or if whether sexual tensions between the pair began after the 35 year old man moved in?

Miami Police spokesman Lt. Freddie Cruz told the Miami Herald he didn’t have any further details on the attack because of conflicting statements from both parties.

“We hold on to hope”, Nikolov added.

Her cousin, Kaitlin Cabot, who set up the GoFundMe page, says the family believes in miracles. “Please help her any way you can”.
