Floyd Mayweather Defends Ronda Rousey
“I’ve never been on the other side, so I don’t know how it feels”.
On his latest episode, he claims Ronda Rousey’s knockout loss to Holly Holm at UFC 193 this past Saturday night in Melbourne, Australia was fixed.
Rousey and Mayweather have gone back and forth in the media since 2014 after Mayweather was asked about Rousey and responded, “I don’t know who he is”, Bleacher Report reported. “Everything happens for a reason”.
She said: “I kept telling myself that this was going to be my time and that I should not get too relaxed”.
“Just in boxing period, contact sports period, you win a few, you lose a few”, Mayweather said while attending the Los Angeles Lakers-Detroit Pistons matchup at the Staples Center on Sunday.
“I think people can be pretty brutal”, Holm told TMZ Sports. “It’s all about timing and inches”. Her ground game is unbelievable. Leading up to UFC 193, Rousey said after this bout she didn’t want to fight again until UFC 200 at the earliest. “I’d like to see him pretend to not know who I am now”.
There are many fighters who could use the tutelage of Mayweather, especially somebody like Rousey.
Despite Rousey losing the plot at the weigh-ins, calling her a “fake ass cheap shotting fake respect fake humility bitch” and refusing to touch gloves before the fight, Holly Holm has showed nothing but respect towards her vanquished opponent. “Nobody has the right to beat you, well you just got beat b–. I have always dreamed about being a world champion, and her loss to Holm opened a lot of doors for everyone in the division”.
This sure is an about-face from Mayweather since he and Rousey got into a public sparring match over Rousey’s disapproval of Mayweather’s past domestic violence incidents. There’s been a built up “rivalry” between Floyd and former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey, to the point where someone ridiculously suggested that they set up a superfight under MMA rules.
“I want to fight when they give me the opportunity”, Holm told the paper.
