Floyd Wants NAC To ‘Let Nick Diaz Smoke Weed & Enjoy His Life’
The UFC certainly likes to hold championship fights in Vegas, but you have to think that they they wouldn’t pass on Cejudo because of his stance.
“She didn’t need to do that”, Diaz told TMZ on Monday.
“To me it’s not so much based on success”, he said.
“My immediate reaction was that it was something that was unjust”, the 28-year-old Cejudo said. But when I saw the Nick Diaz case and saw the penalty he got, I thought how some of the prior fighters can get away with murder. Will I become a UFC champion some day?
“It’s so not right for him to be suspended five years for marijuana“, Rousey said.
Diaz didn’t seem all that motivated to be a fighter during the last three years of his career, returning for one big fight each year to collect a huge paycheck before “retiring” after a loss in all three high-profile bouts. And I just can’t do it, even if it means leaving the belt on the line and allowing somebody else to fight whoever has the belt at that time. “I have to figure out how to make a living”. To me it’s something that’s unjust, and I feel like as an Olympic athlete who’s now a UFC fighter it gives the…I feel like I have his side because I’ve been there before.
It’s interesting Mayweather is even discussing drug tests conducted under the NAC’s watch considering he’s caught some heat for reportedly taking a banned IV after weighing in for May’s blockbuster boxing match against Manny Pacquiao. I am willing to do that because I am willing to show the type of person with the type of character that I am and the fact that I am very touched with by what happened to Nick Diaz.
