Flu vaccination clinic takes place Thursday

The Booneville clinic will take place from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m.at the First Baptist Church.

Pamela Kahn, who coordinates health and wellness programs for the Orange County Department of Education, attended Kaiser’s clinic Friday at Lincoln Elementary School.

They do not want to experience the flu outbreak a year ago that infected a lot of people.

For those children in areas where the vaccination is not offered through schools, they will be offered the vaccination at their local GP or pharmacy.

Flu season is usually seen during winter, but most states say that the influenza virus stayed overtime, many cases of flu were reported whole year round.

A few people experience side effects from flu shots, including soreness, redness or swelling where the shot was administered, fever and aches.

Not one, but two drug companies have said that there will be delays in shipping flu vaccines for children this season.

Influenza, commonly known as the “flu”, is a highly contagious viral infection of the respiratory tract.

A flu vaccine is the first and most important step people can take to protect themselves against the flu, said Harry Chen, the state health commissioner.

Black’s study looked at influenza antibody levels generated by people who were vaccinated with regular vaccine and the adjuvanted variety.

Indiana State Department of Health officials say even with a death early in the season, flu activity in the state and across the country is now minimal. If you do not have insurance, or your insurance company does not pay, the vaccine will be available at no charge to you.

But the new studies suggest that the cholesterol-busting drugs have a detrimental effect on the immune response of the influenza vaccine and the vaccine’s effectiveness at preventing serious illness in older adults.

“It puts the odds in your favor”, the governor said after his shot.
