Foggy, cold Saturday morning in Delhi
“The dense fog led to the delay of 34 flights”.
At least 30 Delhi-bound trains were cancelled and 20 trains were running late due to thick fog in the national capital on Saturday, Railways said. “Four of them were to depart from Delhi, while the 30 others were to arrive”, said a statement from the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport.
Friday morning has been reported as the season’s coldest morning as experienced by Delhiites with minimum temperature settling at 4.2 degree Celsius, three notches below average.
Meanwhile, visibility fell from 300 metres at 5.30 am to 200 metres at 8.30 am, the official said.
“Moderate to dense fog enveloped many parts of the city while some isolated pockets also witnessed very dense fog”, said MeT official. One train was rescheduled.
“Around 12 flights coming to Jammu were delayed by an hour because of poor visibility due to the dense fog”. The Weatherman has predicted a mainly clear sky for the day with maximum temperature rising up to 19 degrees Celsius.
Safdarjung observatory, which is considered the official figure for Delhi, recorded 4.2 degrees Celsius which was three notches below normal. Find us on Facebook too!
