Foo Fighters announce United Kingdom stadium shows as Dave Grohl calls broken leg
The dates in Milton Keynes are rescheduled from the cancelled Wembley performances, following the broken leg Dave Grohl suffered on stage in Sweden last month. Now, they’ve kept true to their word – Foo Fighters have confirmed three United Kingdom shows for this September. Iggy Pop will support the band at the gigs. Alice Cooper, Bob Mould, Seasick Steve, John Paul Jones and Roger Taylor made appearances over the course of the two nights, while Biffy Clyro opened both shows. The band have already played stadium shows in Manchester, Edinburgh and Dublin on the current tour, and they are also in the middle of a run of major U.S. stadium shows, which are continuing despite Grohl’s injuries.
In a statement, the band say: “You have always stood by our band, and we will always stand by you. I think the spontaneity of this situation we’re in right now just brings out a smile in everyone”. And I mean that.
Fans who had tickets for the Wembley Stadium shows will be offered the option of tickets to the Milton Keynes show before the tickets go on sale to the public.
Grohl spotted Anthony Bifolchi in the audience holding a sign which read, ‘It’s my birthday, can I play drums?’ and called him up.
Tickets go on sale this Friday (July 17th).
Meanwhile, Foo Fighters were forced to scrap their show on Saturday night (July 11) in Quebec City due to bad weather.
The Foo Fighters have concerts scheduled through November.
