For Brady, facing Giants could bring back bad memories
New England (8-0) is arguably the best team in the league, as they continue to dominate the AFC East, while NY (5-4) has endured an up-and-down campaign, yet now sits atop the NFC East. Naturally, the midseason awards that get bandied about have Brady’s name atop the list when it comes to MVP or Offensive Player of the Year. BB: Yeah, I mean, I don’t know.
Coughlin said all he is concerned about is heading into the Week 11 bye on a high note, as with a win, the Giants would enter their break on a two-game winning streak and winners in three of its last four games. Of course, the NY Giants defense also played the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday. “I think, yeah, I’ll be better this week than last week”, Pierre-Paul said. Brady might just be playing the best ball of his career with 22 touchdowns and two interceptions. Collins also has 4.5 quarterback sacks on the year.
That can either be an encouraging or discouraging sign.
It’s not Barker’s fault that she got lightly roasted here, that’s just how Belichick is and she doesn’t deal with him on a weekly basis.
The New England Patriots visit the NY Giants in Week 10 of the National Football League schedule on Sunday, kick off time at 4:25 PM ET, at MetLife Stadium.
NY is a solid team this season, 5-4 after a few bad breaks late in games. “You’ve just got to keep being consistent”. “He’s the quickest in the league at getting rid of the ball”. “But you do have to try”.
The marquee player on the Patriots’ defense has been Jaime Collins, who despite missing Sunday’s game with an undisclosed illness, still leads the team with 51 total tackles.
My guess is if they do reach that position this year, Brady will have Belichick’s blessing to demolish the Dolphins. Of the 21 previous teams to start 8-0 in the Super Bowl era, 12 reached the Super Bowl and eight of those teams won rings. But in XLII the Giants had Michael Strahan, Justin Tuck and Osi Umenyiora.
“It’s a big challenge”, Pierre-Paul said. But he doesn’t expect that to be the case after this week’s clash with Tom Brady and the Patriots.
“Yeah, it’s a different group”. “It was me, Tuck, Osi”.
They don’t seem to have many pass rushers now. So, fire away.Q: The last time you faced the Giants and you were undefeated, in 2007, things didn’t turn out in your favor.
“There are still ways to help”, said Jenkins, who will play at tackle with Johnathan Hankins (pectoral) on injured reserve. He had no sacks this season, but he had seven in 2014.
Pierre-Paul said the hand did not limit him physically or tactically.
Vinnie Iyer(Sporting News) ranks them 1st: Losing Dion Lewis is a tough blow, but they have plenty of other guys to make their offense go.
“It’ll be studying what they like to do, what they’re good at, trying to find out the little tendencies that we can find, and then game day, we have to be able to stop the early surge and be able to predict and see what they’re going to run towards us to attack us that day”.
That’s tough talk from a defense that hasn’t been very tough at all on opposing quarterbacks this season.
They have no choice, because the pass rush has always been the difference between the Giants and the Patriots.
