Chinese star Fan Bingbing came in fourth, and Jennifer Aniston took fifth place. He topped Forbes list earlier in August of the highest paid male actors. The list has shown only four actresses to have surpassed the $20 million mark, adding controversy to the issue of pay gap among actors and actresses. Scarlett Johansson followed Lawrence with $35.5 million, while Melissa McCarthy raked in $23 million.

Forbes wrote an article comparing the two lists and noticed the disparities: The list of women made a combined 1 million, while the men pulled in 1 million. “The problem is the averaged don’t work because there are not enough parts for women to star in for them to get paid”.
