Forecast: Snow ending overnight, Monday will be mild
Tuesday afternoon and night offer the next chance for some steadier light rain, followed by lingering showers Wednesday.
There’s another system possible with some light precipitation in the middle of the week.
Monday begins with rain, but clears through the day as high temperatures reach 54 – the highest temps we’ll see this week.
Temperatures will crash into the low 20s Thursday and only climb into the mid 20s. Low temperatures will be right around that freezing mark of 32 degrees, hence the likelihood for some wintry precipitation.
Rain and snow will also be likely across the southwest in places like Silver City, Lordsburg, T or C and Las Cruces.
Tonight: Rain, mainly after 7pm. Light southeast wind at 5 miles per hour.
When? There is some model disagreement regarding the precise start time of our impending rain/snow, so I have to present a pretty big window for the first raindrops and snowflakes: sometime between 7 a.m. and 1 a.m.
Monday: Rain likely before 7am. We’ll have mostly sunny skies with highs around 40 degrees. The wind will subside; instead of gusts over 30 MH, the wind will come down to the 5-15 miles per hour range with gusts up to 20 miles per hour. Chance for light snow/mix at night. Expect the first flakes by 5 AM in western New England and 8 AM at the coast. Little or no sleet accumulation expected. Chance of precipitation is 70%. Lows will dip to the teens by Friday morning in Indianapolis!
Wednesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 39.
Thursday: Turning much colder, breezy and snow showers.
Tonight: Cloudy skies will stick around through the evening with chilly temperatures holding in the 30s.
Saturday is expected to be mostly cloudy with a high near 27.
