Forecasters Call For Snow Monday Morning, Tuesday
Scattered snow showers over Central Illinois will continue through much of Monday, say forecasters with the National Weather Service in Lincoln.
Today: A swath of snow south of Interstate 70 hasn’t moved much, and it’s expected to produce accumulating snowfall through the morning commute, said StormCenter 7 Meteorologist Kirstie Zontini.
More snow is headed to CT and to help drivers prepare for slippery conditions during their Monday morning commute, Eyewitness News has declared it an Early Warning Weather Day.
“The fact that it’s coming over such a long period makes it a lot easier to keep up with as far as snow shoveling and plowing”, Kines said. “Thursday and Friday will see temperatures in the low single-digits and high temperatures around 20 degrees”.
Wednesday’s low is forecast to be 17 degrees, with a high of only 33 degrees.
The weather service has issued a winter weather advisory for some counties north of Hall, including Dawson, Lumpkin and White.
Tuesday’s wind chill values dipped as low as -12 in the early morning, according to the NWS office in Sioux Falls. North northwest wind 10 to 15 miles per hour.
The snow didn’t stop presidential candidates from campaigning in New Hampshire, just four days away from its first-in-the-nation primary.
With no snow on Sunday, Madison’s February total stayed at 3.1 inches, 0.2 inches above normal.
No official snow accumulation total is available for Wareham, but Simpson reported that 5.5 inches had fallen in nearby Sandwich as of 3:30 p.m.
Partly sunny skies are expected during the day with mostly cloudy skies and a chance of snow showers in the evening and overnight.
Sunday: A chance of snow.
Friday Night: A chance of snow showers.
But in a worst-case scenario, the storm is also capable of producing 5-7 inches across Anne Arundel County and 8-9 inches across the rest of the region.
