Forget Tinder: Leslie Jones made a potential love connection on Twitter
The 35-year-old Trainwreck actress revealed she supported 48-year-old Jones when she was bombarded with hate on social media by fans who were unhappy with the all-female reboot.
While she’s spending most of her time commenting on the Olympics lately (even landing herself an NBC gig in the process), she tweeted one awesome note from a young fan on Monday. Oh, and she also spoke about a slew of other important issues, like sexism, Hillary Clinton, and her high school journal entries.
But it’s not all fun and games for Leslie, who took part in the Olympic broadcast with Ryan Seacrest. “And then once they’ve come true, you have nothing to be scared of”.
“I can’t believe my life!” she captioned the video.
“We’re thrilled to have Leslie come to the Olympics”.
Being over in Rio hasn’t impacted any of Jones’ contagiously enthusiastic coverage; she’s been sharing her unfiltered thoughts on the sidelines of many events like swimming, gymnastics, judo and beach volleyball.
“It took Leslie Jones to get [Twitter] to realize that people are banding together in a violent and risky way”, Schumer explains.
Here are the best moments shared on Jones’s Twitter that proves she deserves her own gold medal in “inspirational Olympic commentary”. Early this week, NBC Olympics EP Jim Bell invited the comedian to head on down to Rio and join the Peacock gang.
On becoming stronger than her commenters: “In terms of the Internet, I feel pretty strong”. I freaked her out on objective.
Leslie Jones has arrived in Rio.
She went all out cheering for the USA women’s beach volleyball team during their match against Australia.
