Forgot where you parked? Here’s a reason to remember Apple Maps exists
The new Parked Car feature proactively remembers where you left your vehicle and offers new features in Maps for adding more context.
It can be said that the Parked Car feature of iOS 10 is not very useful while you are at home, but it is definitely convenient while venturing in crowded shopping and tourist places you are not well familiar with.
Hall noted that “Running iOS 10 beta 1 on my iPhone SE, the lock screen alert above appeared automatically shortly after disconnecting from CarPlay. iOS can also detect entering and exiting your vehicle based on auto Bluetooth systems as seen in Reminders in iOS 9”. One of those developers is restaurant discovery site Zomato. That does sound a little ominous, but what it means is that Apple’s mobile map widget will know when you copy and paste an address, for instance, and will offer directions for how to get there.
At the Apple Worldwide Developer Conference keynote earlier this week, Apple revealed its biggest update to iOS 10 to date.
The firm is also offering a host of Google Maps and Waze-esque features like traffic conditions, en-route destinations, current speeds and upcoming hazards.
Once they come to a stop, drivers using Apple Maps will be notified that their phone has dropped a pin on the map at the car’s location, according to AppleInsider. You can also add a text note or take a photo of your car’s location in the Maps app, according to 9to5Mac. Dig through our iOS 10 gallery below.
The idea is to make it possible for users to a lot more with Maps, such as book a reservation, hire an Uber and pay for the lot without leaving Maps.
A Memory also contains the Memory Movie, an automatically edited movie with theme music, titles and cinematic transitions.
