Former Bears defensive lineman Bryan Robinson dead at age 41
Former Arizona Cardinals defensive tackle Bryan Robinson died at the age of 41. Robinson, of Gurnee, Illinois, was pronounced dead at the Midpoint Motel about 10:15 p.m., the medical examiner’s office said in a statement. He most recently played for the Arizona Cardinals, but retired in 2010.
Toxicology reports and autopsy results are still pending to determine his cause of death. He blocked a 28-yard field goal attempt by Green Bay’s Ryan Longwell, breaking the Bears’ 10-game losing streak.
Robinson, a free agent out of Fresno State, played 14 years in the NFL, He played six seasons with the Chicago Bears. “Our prayers are with Bryan and his family”, reads a post on the official twitter account of the Chicago Bears. Robinson did not have any visible wounds, and the officers found no sign of foul play in the room. “Walter had a lot to do with it. I know he did”. He started in Super Bowl XLIII when the Cardinals lost to the Steelers.
The defensive lineman spent six season with the Bears, from 1998-2003.
Robinson’s June 11 death came just 11 days before he was to celebrate his 42nd birthday.
