Former Bills DC Schwartz goes to Eagles

A change in the head coaching position doesn’t mean a switch at quarterback to, as it seems the Philadelphia Eagles are going to try and re-sign Sam Bradford despite a less than impressive first season with the team.

Prior to his tenure with the Chiefs, Pederson spent two seasons as the Eagles quarterbacks coach (2011-12) under Reid, the former head coach in Philadelphia.

“Checked the box on everything we looked at from football intelligence, overall intelligence, strategic thinking, communication skills, collaboration skills, genuineness, comfortable in your own skin, leadership abilities”, Lurie said Tuesday.

The Philadelphia Eagles announced on Thursday of last week that they had completed their head coaching search. The team had to wait for the Chiefs to be eliminated from the playoffs before making it official. “As one source with a team other than the Chiefs told PFT, Pederson’s awareness that he would be getting the job necessarily became a distraction as he prepared for a playoff game”.

Pederson said he hasn’t hired an offensive coordinator yet despite reports linking him to former San Diego Chargers offensive coordinator Frank Reich.

Pederson managed only three completions for 34 yards, but he directed two late field goal drives and the Dolphins rallied to win. In his lone season with the Bills, Schwartz guided the Bills to the fourth-ranked defense in the National Football League. He’s taking over a team that had a 7-9 record, the best record of the seven teams who were searching for a head coach.

Provided they don’t join Pederson in Philadelphia, likely candidates include quarterbacks coach Matt Nagy, spread game anlyst/special projects coach Brad Childress and running backs coach Eric Bieniemy. Bradford wasn’t given a lot of freedom by Kelly to “freestyle” at the line of scrimmage during the season, but with Shurmur calling the plays on the final game of the season, Bradford probably gave his best performance.

That said, Pederson added: “This is not an Andy Reid team”.

“We utilize our players’ and quarterback’s strengths with the offensive system”. So I think we’re close. “In this case with Chip I think there were some very good reasons to be bold about what he wanted to be able to accomplish and do”.

Robiskie, 61, served as wide receivers coach of the Atlanta Falcons the past eight seasons. Then as an assistant coach and then as a head coach, I brought him to Philadelphia and then brought him back as a quality control coach.
