Former F1 Champion Button Splits With Wife Jessica
The pair is said to have parted ways amicably after tying the knot past year in December.
‘There is no-one else involved’.
Formula One driver Jenson Button and his model wife Jessica Michibata have announced they are separating after just a year of marriage.
The 2009 F1 World Champion and Michibata hit the headlines earlier this year after a St Tropez property they were staying in was robbed, with £30,000 worth of valuables stolen, including an engagement ring.
We oohed and ahhed over their lavish Hawaiian wedding ceremony at the end of past year, but now the pair are going their separate ways.
It was also revealed that the couple had not signed a pre-nuptial agreement before their marriage, and that their representatives are now having discussions about Button’s estimated $52million fortune.
Jenson explained; ‘We don’t see each other any more than before we were married’.
Speaking to The Mail On Sunday earlier this year, Button said: “Jessie still works a lot in Japan”.
“She enjoys working, which is great, but obviously it means that we don’t see each other very often”.
After getting married, “model Jessica returned to her busy professional life, based in Tokyo, and Jenson continued to travel the world with the gruelling F1 circus”, it explains.
Their last public appearance together was at the American Grand Prix in Austin on October 25.
