Rice fled the scene in a Porsche, the vehicle that police pulled over to find the former Wizard bleeding from his leg. Once pulled over, they searched the Porsche and found over a half-pound of marijuana and few thousand dollars in cash in the auto.
A police report, which you can read here, indicates that, after being shot, Rice Jr. got into a Porsche driven by another man and made his way to a local hospital.
Police have video footage showing Rice ditching a gun by throwing it on a stairwell, TMZ reported. A shot was sacked by an unidentified individual, and Rice is the only known victim. But for much of his college and pro career, he’s been about 6-foot-6, 205 pounds. The police are still investigating whether the Smith and Wesson revolver Rice Jr. alleged dropped while fleeing from the scene is stolen.
Rice also played for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the NBA’s Development League during the 2014-15 season. I opened the bag and found 240.4 Grams of marijuana and a US Passport that belongs to Mr. Rice.
His father, Glen Rice, was a three-time National Basketball Association All-Star who played for the Los Angeles Lakers’ National Basketball Association championship team in 2000.
Rice’s dismissal from the Yellow Jackets program is somewhat related to this developing story as the dismissal stemmed from an incident where Rice was driving under the influence and shooting a gun, an incident which he was charged for then as well.
According to Jennifer Brett of the Atlanta Journal Constitution, the police report states there was a verbal altercation that turned violent outside Scales 925 on Sunday night. He was kicked off Georgia Tech’s team because of it. According to Net Worth Portal, Rice had an annual salary of $496,000 when he played for the Wizards and his net worth as of 2014 was $1.2 million.
