Former UFC champion (Rowdy) Ronda Rousey to host ‘Saturday Night Live’
Ultimate Fighting Championship superstar Ronda Rousey can add another item to her growing resume: Saturday Night Live host.
The sketch comedy show announced its first two hosts and musical guests of 2016 via Twitter, naming actor Adam Driver as host on January 16 with musical guest Chris Stapleton. Many felt Tate was more deserving of the title shot at UFC 193 than Holm to begin with, but “Cupcake” had already been soundly defeated by Rousey twice.
While the former UFC bantamweight champion’s face is not in the frame, a tattoo believed to be Rousey’s trademark wrist inking is visible on the model’s wrist.
That’s when she’ll once again appear in the magazine’s annual Swimsuit Issue, only this time, she’ll be wearing little more than bodypaint.
Holm also agreed to a recent contract extension with the UFC. One thing is for sure, though: White definitely wants Rousey-Holm II – whenever it takes place – to be a title match.
Gomez will take the SNL stage a week later alongside UFC fighter Ronda Rousey, who will host the show.
Holm signed with UFC in July previous year. Not just fighting, but promoting and taking the sport and the UFC to a whole other level. The MMA company is hoping that she recovers in time to headline UFC 200 with Holm in July, at a lavish event set to be held at an arena still under construction in Las Vegas. But White has everyone reason to be confident in his new champion.
Holm, of course, shocked the world by knocking out Rousey to claim the belt last November. She is still recovering from her injuries sustained against the fight with Holm, but she has a very busy schedule. I feel like if that’s my full potential, then I should retire because I don’t feel like I’m going to get better.
