Former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar temporarily suspended
Lesnar’s attorney Brian Stegeman has been contacted by the state and will work with them to set a date for the hearing where they will be able to present a defense.
Lesnar, who retired from MMA after a loss to Alistair Overeem in December of 2011 and soon returned to WWE, made a shocking return to the sport in order to give the UFC 200 card some major drawing power. That will probably mean little to Lesner who earned a reported $US2.5 million purse for his UFC victory over Kiwi Mark Hunt in July. The first occurred on June 28th, which was more than a full week prior to UFC 200.
Featuring in the main event of SummerSlam against Randy Orton, the fight came to an abrupt ending when Lesnar was seen throwing elbows at the face of Orton.
Lesnar viciously elbowed Orton’s head, opening a wound that required 10 staples to close.
At a recent media event, Brock Lesnar told TMZ Sports, “To my fans that watch me in the octagon, I thank them for their support”. At Tuesday’s meeting, Bateman asked that Lesnar’s suspension be extended until such time as Lesnar has a formal disciplinary hearing before the commission. Well, it turns out that Hydroxy-clomiphene is technically considered a “specified substance” under the World Anti-Doping Agency Code and not “banned substance” as was originally believed when the two were handed out their temporary suspensions.
Hunt wants all or some of that prizemoney because of the doping offences by Lesnar.
Lesnar has indicated he is keen to return to MMA. I’m gonna get through this alright.
