Forza Horizon 3 Nvidia Game Ready driver released
Rather than putting you in the middle of the Horizon Festival as just another racer, Forza Horizon 3 actually makes you the boss of the whole shebang.
But for those who still appreciate the motoring pastime with freedom, this game does a fantastic job of rejuvenating the finery of going wherever you want, in a larger-than-life road tour.
I AM undoubtedly a massive advocate for cycling and forward thinking infrastructure. It’s the video game equivalent of listening to the Back to the Future theme while shifting into fifth gear on the M20.
This game is stellar, whether your on-road or off, racing the Aussie landscapes on the left-hand side of the road with the best cars on the planet is an absolute fun fest. Forza Horizon 3 has found a flawless middle-ground between having all the cars be really accessible and fun to drive while also still keeping each car’s unique handling and quirks.
Playground Gamesart director Benjamin Penrose said the game had been two years in the making, with relentless attention to detail to ensure the game offered an authentic feel for the named locations. While playing, it brings a clear look of what we are doing and what is next step. Of course, reinventing the wheel isn’t an easy task, nor was it something necessary for Playground Games to do (don’t fix what ain’t broke, right?). Playing this game is like you are in real places; it is wonderful to the experience I could ever imagine.
With an offer like that, I figured I could forgo my bicycle advocacy for a day. The auto made it harder than it needed to be, but it was still fun and challenging. But it instantly won a sizeable fan-base by taking a completely different approach from the game that spawned it.
That change comes in the form of the player becoming the boss of it all. I still felt in control of my auto at all times. Surprisingly, this tended to be some of the more densely populated areas.
There’s no question, this game looks stunning, one of the best so far on the Xbox One and with aging hardware, it continues to impress me how much more performance can be extracted from the original hardware. If a challenge was hard, I could just move to something else.
Sadly, I didn’t personally pilot the Lambo. This includes vehicle horns, and I’ll be sure to blast out “La Cucaracha” any chance I get. That is not a bad thing, as the game drops the rules of racing games in favor of functioning more like a joyride simulator. The best part is you do get to see the Festival grow and get bigger over time. “But it also managed to muster “cor blimey” moments that made me feel a whooping rush of speed and liberation”. Dirt kicks up when you drive off-road, droplets splash on the screen when you drive through standing water, and dirt accumulates on the underside of your auto.
Last weekend, I drove a Lamborghini Centenario through the Australian rainforest. Want to race through the outback with a bunch of old trucks?
I have a capture of my finally managing to launch one of the Corvette race cars onto a farmhouse roof in order to smash a XP sign. We will test the Windows 10 version when it becomes available. Those seeking high level simulation can tweak game settings and their virtual vehicles to their heart’s content, while more casual players who just want to tear about the arid Outback in a sleek sports auto or boisterous dune buggy can let the game’s generous assisted driving options do the heavy lifting.
I had made it to the destination, driving three supercars and experiencing the attractive and diverse landscapes along the Great Ocean Road, now I was excited to play the game. I hope to be able to recreate that feat here. What’s something I love to do in this game? It never felt like I was gaining much in the way of skill. It’s not just that they handle differently.
It wasn’t just fun setting this event up. The game feels more open than ever.
This isn’t true at all as not only does Forza Horizon 3’s product page say “Xbox Live Gold membership (sold separately) required for online multiplayer on Xbox One”, but when we asked a Microsoft representative to clarify, we were told we “won’t need Gold for multiplayer, it’s free”.
An opening race event does its best to give you a taste of what’s to come, mixing up locations and terrains to great effect. I can’t emphasise enough how enjoyable the simple act of driving around in Horizon 3 is.
