Forza Motorsport 6: Apex announced
The release is said to be coming around the beginning of April and it will be free-to-play. This will include games that are playable across Xbox One and PC, with shared saves so you never lose progress, and the possibility of some titles on mobile as well.
It’s apparently a lighter version of the Xbox One game, and it’s called Forza Motorsport 6: Apex. Announced at a private press event in San Francisco last week, Apex will be a curated and free experience made primarily for bringing in new players from the PC world into the Forza community.
Apex will arrive on the Windows 10 store this spring with DirectX 12 and 4K support.
Trademark Forza innovations such as Drivatar™ opponents and a hand-picked selection of 63 fully functioning Forzavista™-enabled cars, each with working cockpits and full damage.
The Seattle Times accidentally broke embargo for Forza Motorsport 6: Apex, but that works out for us just fine. At launch, Apex features 12 themed racing events, more than 60 cars, and a new objective system, which challenges players to complete specific, skill-based tasks for additional in-game currency.
The game is the first step by Microsoft and developer Turn 10 to creating future Forza experiences for Windows 10 PC gamers.
Players will be able to race the cars on 20 tracks across six different locations including Brands Hatch, Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, Rio de Janeiro, Sebring International Raceway, Top Gear and Yas Marina with night and wet-weather variants. That is a long-term commitment from us.
