Four Auburn Players Facing Marijuana Charges Won’t Miss Clemson Season-Opener

It was here, at the 2015 SEC Football Media Days, that the Tigers were tabbed as the projected SEC champions.

Auburn got what it wanted in an exchange of assistant coaches with LSU in the off-season, Auburn coach Gus Malzahn said at Monday’s SEC Media Days address. Malzahn was asked if he was glad to see the Bulldogs’ old coach go. That’s my strength, being on the field and coaching an offense.

Alabama head coach Nick Saban, senior defensive lineman Jonathan Allen, senior tight end O.J. Howard, and senior defensive back Eddie Jackson make their way to the podium to kick things off on Wednesday, at 9:05 a.m.

“This is a wrestling belt and since we’re the champs, I chose to bring it here and just let people know we’re still the champs”.

NOTE Each team will be represented by three players as well as the coach. I would probably put our schedule up against anybody in college football, especially early. We have a pretty tough opener, obviously, with Clemson, one of the better teams in all of college football, with maybe the best player in all of college football. “In this league, you’re going to have a lot of close games”. “So, we’re blessed to have a guy like him”. However, Auburn’s defensive talents, particularly along the defensive line, should be strong enough to grant the team at least one or two more wins than it had past year. But it remains a very important game for both teams, always coming in late November and usually with some sort of championship considerations on the line. He’s a hard worker. The positive is we have three guys that we feel like can execute our offense. “I’m sure he’ll be weighing in some way or the other during the week”. We played in the junior bowl together and we were roommates then. On personal goal for 2016 season “I need to be more of a dominating specimen, more tenacious this year”. Franklin III, who wasn’t able to showcase his athleticism outside the pocket because quarterbacks weren’t eligible for contact, finished Saturday without a touchdown and just 7 of 11 for 61 yards including a 40-yard touchdown to Marcus Davis.

Asked why they won’t have to miss any playing time, the head coach said, “Because that is what I chose to do and I think that is the right thing to do”.

Linebacker will be a more troubling position to account for, as the team loses three starters from previous year. With Sean (White), he’s just got a knack for the position; he’s a great quarterback. With John [Franklin III], he does things different.

“It was very frustrating and very humbling to go through an experience like that”, Malzahn said. “It was a decision that was made by me and my family”. Previous year I wasn’t 100 percent probably, about 60% coming back from the hip injury.
