China’s Yan Han took the bronze medal while Japan’s Shoma Uno and Takahito Mura ranked fourth and fifth, respectively.
“But finally today it seemed that everything, my body, the ice, just felt just right and I could finally just relax and enjoy the programme”, Chan told a press conference after his victory. Chan has never been a fan of long travel.
The three-time world champion said he is taking a patient approach to his comeback.
Jin defeated Chan on the technical score – 110.66 to Chan’s 106.85, but Chan overcame him with his powerful edges and speed and presentation, blasting Jin with 97.14 points to Jin’s 80.72.

They have done the twist before but the quad throw was new for them. Duhamel and Radford scored 71.90.
Poje says the result fires them up for next month’s world championships in Boston. Alaine Chartrand of Prescott, Ont., was seventh, while Kaetlyn Osmond of Marystown, N.L., was 11th, and Veronik Mallet of Sept-Iles, Que., was 15th. “For me it’s a stepping stone kind of year”, she said.
