Four Palestinians killed after attacks on Israelis in West Bank
Two Palestinian assailants were shot dead.
The Israeli army, for its part, said there have been over 100 attacks by Palestinians against Israelis, majority in Jerusalem.
Earlier Friday, the military reported the stabbing overnight of an Israeli soldier in the flashpoint West Bank city of Hebron.
The car-ramming attack took place just hours after a Palestinian stabbed and moderately injured an Israeli near the Palestinian village of Abud in the West Bank.
Muslim culture requires that a body be buried as soon after death as possible, but Israeli authorities have prevented the families of numerous Palestinians killed in the last two months from retrieving the bodies of their loved ones for burial.
Since October 1, a total of 112 Palestinians have been killed along with 21 Israelis, an American, and an Eritrean.
Israel on Thursday demolished the West Bank home of a Palestinian accused of masterminding the killing of a Jewish settler couple, the army said.
Israel says Palestinian incitement has fuelled the attacks.
Later Friday afternoon, an Israeli girl was lightly wounded when the auto she was traveling in was pelted by rocks thrown by Palestinian near Neve Tsuf, a settlement north of Ramallah in the West Bank.
“The assailant exited his vehicle and stabbed the soldier in the neck”, a statement said.
More than half of the Palestinians have been alleged assailants, and others have been shot dead by Israeli security forces during clashes.
Israel says demolitions act as a deterrent to potential attackers, while rights groups and Palestinians say it amounts to collective punishment, forcing family members to suffer for acts committed by someone else.
He said they were wounded by tank fire.
After warning shots were ignored, “forces fired live fire and tank rounds” and the suspects retreated, an army spokeswoman said.
Most of the violence has been in the occupied West Bank but there have been semi-regular protests in the Gaza Strip.
