Four Shot, One Killed Near Dorm at Northern Arizona University

Robinette said the entire campus community is mourning together.

In Castle Rock, counselors with the Douglas County School District’s crisis team were at the high school to provide support. “Two separate student groups got into confrontation, confrontation turned physical”.

The slain student has been identified as Colin Brough, according to the NAU website.

The circumstances of the two shootings differ. The three who were wounded were taken to Flagstaff Medical Center.

Arizona Governor Doug Ducey and U.S. Senator John McCain, both Republicans, extended thoughts and prayers to the victims and their families. The shooter is in custody.

“There’s just an energy on campus today that is somber”, she said.

“How am I supposed to feel safe where I’m learning”, Gonzalez said.

The incident occurred outside Mountainview Hall dormitory, but authorities said they could not immediately say what led up to the confrontation.
