After Donald Trump and Fox News host Megyn Kelly got into a heated exchange during the Republican primary debate, many wondered if that was the end of the line for the billionaire real estate mogul. “Blood coming out of her – wherever”, he told CNN’s Don Lemon.
Kelly did note that she was not responding specifically to Trump’s weekend comments.
“Mr. Trump was upset with a question I asked him at the debate last week about his electability, and specifically comments he has made in the past about women”, she said. “She should really be apologizing to me, [if] youwant to know the truth”, Trumpsaid.
In response to her “harsh” questions, Kelly noted that her job is to “go out there and ask probing questions that are hopefully smart and help the people learn something about this person and in this context, their weakness”.
Trumpsaid in the Republican debate on Thursday night that Clinton only attended his wedding because he donated to her campaign. “Isaid nothing wrong”, he said, adding that someone would have to be a “deviant” to think he had meant what was being implied. Who would make a statement like that?
“I didn’t even finish the answer, because I wanted to get on the next point”.
“I would be the best for women, the best for women’s health issues”, Trump declared during a Monday interview on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe”. “But I think the difference between Donald Trump is I’m not running for president and I did apologize, not just change my story”.
But since the debate, Trump has blasted Kelly, saying she was mean to him. “Mr. Trump is an outsider and does not fit his agenda”.
Former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina said that Trump’s comments were “completely inappropriate and offensive”.
“I just don’t see him being there for the long term”, said Pritchard.
Trump’s top political adviser, Roger Stone, left the campaign at the weekend, saying on Twitter he disagreed with the “diversion to food fight” with Kelly.
