Fox Sports to use A-Rod as postseason analyst
Fox’s Major League Baseball postseason roster just got a lot more interesting.
And no matter what you think about Alex Rodriguez, the guy knows a ton about baseball and typically speaks like a seasoned scout when asked to assess other players.
A-Rod, who will be a guest analyst for Fox Sports during the ALCS and World Series starting with Game 3 between the Royals and Blue Jays on Monday, appeared on “Fox NFL Sunday” to show off that arm strength.
Rodriguez was suspended for the entire 2014 season for his involvement with illegal performance-enhancing drugs. A-Rod hit 33 home runs this season en route to passing Willie Mays for fourth all-time in baseball history.
The New York Daily News first reported A-Rod’s agreement with Fox Sports. The expectations will be low and they’ll be a tune-factor given Rodriguez’s name recognition.
The report says Rodriguez will stay on through the World Series, possibly offering thoughts on the crosstown Mets if they’re able to knock off the Chicago Cubs in the NLCS.
“Alex has always impressed us from afar with his ability to articulate the game extraordinarily well”, said John Entz, President of Production of Fox Sports, in a statement.
