Foxboro Police release details about incident involving Chandler
At no point, say police, did Jones resist their requests, “nor was he ever argumentative or confrontational”.
This was in response to Jones showing up shirtless in the parking lot of the Foxborough police station, confused and in need of medical assistance, according to police. “If you want to just pass along to the fire, he was definitely involved with Class D (Delta) before this happened, just so they know”, the police officer said.
Throughout his interaction with police and firefighters, Jones was described as cooperative and willing to do whatever asked of him as first responders helped him out.
The Patriots defensive end didn’t miss any meetings or practices, as he was present at Gillette Stadium on Monday. “Right now, my main focus is becoming the best player I can be and helping the team”.
Speaking to the media in the Patriots locker room, Jones said he “made a pretty stupid mistake” Sunday and his focus now is on the team’s upcoming playoff game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
“First of all, relative to Chandler’s situation, there is nothing more important to me personally than the health and well-being of our players and staff and people in the organization”, Belichick said.
Jones was then transported to Norwood Hospital where an officer rode with them as a part of a medical assist call.
Another officer sent to Jones’ home reported a “smell of burnt marijuana”, according to the documents.
A Foxborough police report was redacted to omit information about the incident, the Herald reported. “It might be easier for all of us”.
On Tuesday, The Boston Herald broke a story that Jones had shown up to a Foxborough, Massachusetts police station under the influence of a drug, though it was unknown what the drug was.
The team listed him as having limited participation in practice – one of a dozen Patriots in that category on Wednesday’s practice report – because of a knee injury.
League officials are said to be looking into the incident to determine what, if any, disciplinary action should be taken and whether Jones should be placed into the league’s substance abuse program.
