Foxes close in on Inler signing
Leicester City have officially announced the signing of Swiss midfielder Gokhan Inler from Napoli, subject to global clearance and receiving approval from the Premier League and the FA.
Sky Sports reported at the start of August that the Foxes had agreed a fee with Napoli for the Switzerland global and were closing in on his signature.
The Swiss global midfielder has signed a three-year deal at the King Power Stadium to become the Foxes’ sixth signing of the summer.
Leicester also revealed Inler will wear the No. 33 shirt.
I think the club are speaking to a lot of players and I hope, as soon as it is possible, one player will arrive, ” Ranieri said in a conference when asked about Inler (Independent). I’ve spoken with the manager and I’m very happy to be here because it’s a nice team.
Inler brings plenty of experience with him to Leicester, having earned 84 caps for his country as well as representing Napoli in the Champions League.
The Foxes followed up their impressive 4-2 win over Sunderland on the opening day with another solid showing in the 2-1 victory over West Ham on Saturday, putting Ranieri’s side level on points with Manchester clubs City and United at the top of the table.
Gokhan Inler made 19 Serie A appearances last season.
