Foxes sign midfielder Kante
Kante, 24, joined from Ligue 1 side Caen for an undisclosed fee after agreeing a four-year deal.
Benalouane, who will wear the number 29 in the Midlands, previously revealed on his official website that he left Serie A outfit Atalanta “in tears”.
Following the release of former English worldwide Matthew Upson, Benalouane also brings great competition to the Leicester City team.
Kante will make the move to the King Power Stadium subject to global clearance and approval from the Premier League and the FA.
Benalouane said Leicester paid €8 million to sign him and said he had no choice but to accept, though he would have preferred to have stayed in Bergamo.
“For me it was more important to help the team survive and then evaluate my options for the future”.
“I am happy to have the opportunity to learn another language and I will experience new things and be very positive”.
“He told me it’s different to Italy, because it’s very high-impact”. I know the club is working very well and very soon arrive a few good players. “I had started my pre-season with the Nerazzurri later, but I will try to give my all”.
He moved to Parma in 2012 before a switch to Atalanta in January 2014 and joins midfielder Kante to become Ranieri’s second signing since being appointed last month.
The duo become City’s fourth and fifth signings of the summer, following the arrivals of Robert Huth, Christian Fuchs and Shinji Okazaki.
