France’s Fabius confused by Trump statements on climate
It may not be up to President-elect Donald Trump to decide whether or not the USA will pull out of the Paris climate agreement, says former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg.
“. Trump is going on about fantasies like “clean coal” and flip-flopping around on whether there’s “some connectivity” between humans and climate change”.
Yet, while the organisers of the conference shared enthusiasm about the momentum created and successes scored, they must also be anxious about the US President-elect Donald Trump’s stand on the issue, knowing that he differs significantly from the worldwide community in regard to global warming, which he not only fails to see as a threat, but considers a hoax.
On the campaign trail, Trump promised to withdraw the United States from the Paris Climate Agreement, which was ratified on the 3rd of September an entered into force on the 4th of November, marking a 180 degree turn on U.S climate change policy.
No country is shifting from dirty to clean energy fast enough to hold global warming below two degrees Celsius, a ranking of 58 nations responsible for 90 percent of energy-related Carbon dioxide emissions showed Wednesday.
“I was very impressed by that answer”, Trump said, adding that torture is “not going to make the kind of a difference that a lot of people are thinking”.
But Trump proclaimed that Clinton was “guilty as hell”, and his rallies were constantly interrupted by chants of “Lock her up!”
The U.S.’s success in fighting climate change has never been primarily dependent on Washington.
His comments to the Times about Clinton angered some of his strongest conservative supporters. If the government wants to rebut such ratings, it needs to demonstrate that it is serious about combating climate change by taking concrete action and coming up with more ambitious long-term plans.
Trump is expected to take the post as US president on January 20.
“The law’s totally on my side, the president can’t have a conflict of interest”.
On Tuesday, the president-elect heralded “more great meetings” in his Manhattan tower as he continued shaping his administration before heading to Florida for Thanksgiving late in the day. That is, Hillary Clinton should be in jail.
But in the meantime, mayors and other local officials will lead the way. And while Trump himself hasn’t abandoned the idea of building a massive border wall with Mexico, Congressional Republicans are beginning to question whether it would really be a practical national security measure. Trump later tweeted that he meeting was back on and he was looking “forward to it”.
Meanwhile, Mr Trump has announced he has asked Republican rival Ben Carson to head the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Trump arrived in Florida on Tuesday evening to spend Thursday’s holiday at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach.
