France train attack hero Stone stabbed in California
Stone, a Sacramento native, was taken to UC Davis Medical Center, where he was listed in serious condition.
“Everybody send prayers out to the Stone family today”, Skarlatos said on Twitter.
American network NBC reported Stone was stabbed on Wednesday night.
“We haven’t had a chance to speak with Mr. Stone”, Bernard said.
Bernard says Stone was out with four other people and a fight with another group led to the stabbing near a bar.
No-one has been arrested in connection with the stabbing.
The other group consisted of two or three people who fled the scene in a gray or black Toyota Camry and had not been apprehended, Bernard said.
Sacramento Deputy Police Chief Ken Bernard told CNN Stone’s injuries were significant but not life-threatening.

Airman First Class Spencer Stone is in stable condition in an area hospital, said the Air Force.
Officials said he was stabbed at a bar near Travis Air Force Base where he is stationed.
Detectives were called to assist with the investigation, according to police.
Stone, 23, and two of his childhood friends from a Sacramento suburb, Skarlatos and Anthony Sadler, took down a gunman on a crowded Paris-bound passenger train in August. Stone tackled the gunman and endured several injuries that required surgery, including getting slashed in the thumb with a boxcutter.
Spencer Stone, one of the heroes from the failed terrorist attack on a French train in August, has yet again put his life in danger to saving someone else. The latter was shot while confronting the gunman, and Stone, after the gunman was subdued, was credited with helping stop Moogalian’s bleeding. Five or six men are in the middle of it all pushing, shoving and trading blows.
But it’s the second time recently that two of the three friends have been in spotlight, with the stabbing coming days after a deadly shooting rampage at the Oregon community college Skarlatos attends. Alek Skarlatos – received France’s highest recognition, the Legion of Honor.
The suspect in the train assault, Ayoub El Khazzani, 25, of Morocco, was charged in France with attempted murder, attempted mass murder and membership in a terrorist organization.
