Francis cites Pinoys’ deep faith, loves being called ‘Lolo Kiko’

At a Vatican conference on October 26, co-sponsored by Caritas worldwide and the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace, the prelates’ appeal was signed by representatives of bishops’ conferences from Asia, Europe, Latin American, southern Africa, Oceania, Canada, and the US.

The final synod document restated Church teachings that gays should not suffer discrimination in society, but also repeated the stand that there was “no foundation whatsoever” for same-sex marriage, which “could not even remotely” be compared to heterosexual unions.
