Frank Ocean Cancels FYF Fest Performance, Replaced By Kanye West
A statement on FYF’s website read that “Frank Ocean has decided on his own terms to cancel his appearance”.
The “All Day” artist will now headline the Main Stage on Saturday night, a feat that he has mastered over the past few years – so Frank’s absence won’t be too much of a loss.
The news hit just before 4:30 p.m., with festival officials notifying fans via phone alerts and email.
Kanye West has stepped in to headline FYF Fest after Frank Ocean cancelled his appearance.
Ocean’s decision to cancel his headlining gig at FYF Fest comes while his fans were anticipating his new album. The project – titled Boys Don’t Cry – was thought to be released back in July, yet there has been no word of it nearly one month later.
Ocean was set to perform on the opening night of the festival Saturday. Other scheduled performers for the two-day festival include Morrissey, D’Angelo and the Vanguard, FKA Twigs, Chet Faker, Flume, Belle & Sebastian, Bloc Party and Run the Jewels. “We’re really sorry that due to a scheduling conflict beyond our control, Frank Ocean is not going to be able to appear at FYF Festival as planned”. His latest announcement hasn’t quelled complaints.
