Frank Ocean releases second album ‘Blonde’
Last night, after four long years of waiting, Frank Ocean finally dropped one of the most highly anticipated albums of the year, ‘Blond.’ Fans and casual listeners alike were treated to 17 tracks of wholly new material to listen to and be swept up in-well, nearly new material. On Friday (August 19) he then released am 18-track “visual album” called Endless.
While the artist has been featured on songs including “Superpower” by Beyonce, Kanye West’s “Wolves” and John Mayer’s “Wildfire”, his last full project was “Channel Orange”, his debut studio album, which was released in July 2012.
In Manhattan fans lined up for more than a block at Mulberry Iconic Magazines – a convenience store that sells beer and sandwiches as well as magazines – for a chance to get hold of the album, The New York Times reported.
The album has been released with an accompanying glossy magazine, Boys Don’t Cry, available from a pop-up shop on London’s Charlotte Street, as well as locations in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago. “Thank you all”, Ocean wrote on his Tumblr social media account.
“I had the time of my life making all of this”.
The name of the album is spelled “Blond” on the cover, but “Blonde” on Apple. Which is basically every one of y’all.
He loves to surprise us, huh?
